Great topic, and one never waning in challenge. I found the more interesting and effective creativity-starters happen around the water fountain, not in the conference room. The elevator is another prime area for conversation-starting. The continuity here is easing into making unexpected connections in those non-institutional spaces. Another continuity is connecting with only one, nurturing familiarity with that individual's role and context, in order to reach out to many. What began as a gradually paced getting-to-know-you can evolve into open dialog about issues and ideas. This all sounds like merely introducing yourself but the art of possibility begins with such a simple step. Analogy here is planting a seed, quickly followed by the other challenge of stimulating and sustaining faith in that seed.
